In May 2022, representatives of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), including the Continental Overseer of the Europe Mainland, Pastor Dele Olowu and Pastor (Mrs) Olowu, joined MDA UK on a 5 day mission to Israel.

The RCCG is a Pentecostal megachurch and denomination founded in Lagos, Nigeria. Today the church is becoming one of the fastest growing Pentecostal churches in the world, with over 15,000 parishes in 100 countries and 12,000 parishes in Nigeria alone.

In 2009, RCCG was the first African church to donate an ambulance to MDA, before generously donating another ambulance in 2011.

To honour this historical support, MDA UK has placed a Mezuzah dedicated in the name of the RCCG on one of the doorposts inside the new Marcus National Blood Services Centre in Ramla, alongside a plaque that reads ‘With enduring friendship to the RCCG’ on the second floor of the Centre.

Tobi Lovv, MDA UK’s African Coordinator, said: “The significance of this level of acknowledgement by Magen David Adom will serve as a model of the wonderful friendships that can be built between the people of Israel and Christian churches across Africa. I am so honoured to be spearheading this outreach – it is about time that Africa and African leaders are recognised in their capabilities and their desire to support Israel. We hope to continue building on these strong ties and finding more opportunities for collaboration between MDA UK and the RCCG.”
