During a first aid class in Jaffa, MDA EMT Batya Tugendhaft saved a teacher who began choking after entering the room. Batya acted immediately, performed the Heimlich manoeuvre and cleared the obstruction. Her quick response prevented a serious emergency and highlighted the value of first aid training.
A community project created in memory of Netta Epstein. His planned triple hop beer was brewed with Israeli honey, flowers and date syrup, then matured in an M and H whisky cask. The same barrel later finished a 5 year old whisky that now carries his story.
Veteran EMT and dispatch officer Ronit arrived at the Magen David Adom Jerusalem dispatch center on the morning of October 7 as the sirens wailed. She spent the next 13 hours taking calls from petrified civilians begging for help, equally terrified family members looking for loved ones and colleagues facing the Hamas terrorists in the field while saving lives.
Adi and Matti Kolani, both MDA volunteers and EMTs, responded to a nearby stabbing attack while on duty in Har Chevron. When they arrived, they realised the victim was their friend. Despite the shock, they acted quickly, stabilised him and transported him to hospital. Their fast response and professionalism helped save his life.
