This morning, at approximately 05:45, Magen David Adom’s 101 emergency dispatch center received reports of injuries resulting from a missile strike on a residential building in Be’er Sheva. Large MDA forces were immediately dispatched to the scene, including ambulances, Mobile Intensive Care Units, and MDA medicycle first responders. Four casualties were pronounced dead at the scene. Thirteen others were evacuated to hospital: two in moderate condition, eight mildly injured, and three suffering from anxiety.
MDA Senior EMT Shimrit Sela, who treated the injured at the scene:
“We saw thick smoke rising from the area of the strike, and as we approached, we witnessed heavy damage to several buildings. Outside one of the buildings, we saw a man lying unconscious—unfortunately, after medical assessment, we had to pronounce him dead. When we entered the building to search further, we found a man and a woman unconscious, and sadly, we had to pronounce them dead at the scene as well. We established a casualty treatment point and conducted medical checks on residents who were evacuated from the buildings.”
MDA paramedic Dvir Ben Ze’ev, who also treated the injured, added:
“We responded with large forces, including Mobile Intensive Care Units, ambulances, rapid response vehicles, and medicycles. We saw significant destruction across several buildings on the street where the rocket landed. At the entrance to one of the buildings, we found an unconscious man, and after thorough searches, we located two more casualties—a man and a woman—also unconscious. Despite our medical efforts, we had no choice but to pronounce them dead. After extended searches by Home Front Command teams, a fourth unconscious victim was located, and his death was pronounced at the scene. Additional MDA teams arriving on site provided medical care and evacuated more casualties to hospital.”

Update 23/06/2025
President of the State of Israel Visits MDA Headquarters in Ramla: “Magen David Adom is a lifesaving organization, but first and foremost, it is part of Israel’s national emergency infrastructure” | MDA Director General: “MDA teams are on the frontlines of the home front—we are ready for any scene and any scenario”
President of the State of Israel Isaac Herzog and his wife, Michal Herzog, visited the Magen David Adom (MDA) National Headquarters in Ramla today (Monday).
During the visit, the President and his wife received a briefing on MDA’s activities on the ongoing operations of MDA’s 35,000 volunteers and employees—active around the clock, even under fire. The President and Mrs. Herzog met with Katya Korshenbaum, an MDA paramedic who treated the wounded at missile impact sites in central Israel, including a critically injured person rescued from beneath the rubble. They also met with Tehilla Kadosh, an MDA paramedic who provided field triage and care to casualties in Holon.
The President and his wife toured MDA’s intensive care evacuation bus, the first of its kind in the world, equipped to evacuate seven patients on stretchers and six more walking wounded. The bus is fitted with advanced medical equipment and was used during the Operation “Am K’Lavi to transfer patients and premature infants from medical facilities to protected areas.
President Isaac Herzog said during the visit: “We came to MDA’s command center together with the talented Director General Eli Bin, who is doing an outstanding job, along with the organization’s leadership, staff, and tens of thousands of dedicated volunteers. MDA is a lifesaving organization, but first and foremost it is a critical part of Israel’s national emergency infrastructure. Everyone waits to hear what Eli Bin has to say about rocket strikes —and that’s no coincidence. We were at MDA’s command center on October 8, 2023, and it’s clear how impressively the capabilities have advanced, enabling real-time information gathering, rapid analysis, and ultimately—saving lives.”
MDA Director General Eli Bin: “I thank the President and Mrs. Herzog for coming here today to support the work of MDA’s teams. Unfortunately, Magen David Adom personnel are once again on the home front’s frontlines. MDA volunteers and employees work around the clock, providing broad, high-quality, and rapid responses to Israel’s citizens. We have trained for this scenario for many years—we were ready, and no situation caught us off guard. We are prepared for every scene and every scenario. The moment a siren sounds, our teams take cover and immediately deploy to treat the wounded and save lives. The President has been following MDA’s work since the beginning of the Iron Swords War—his support gives us real strength to continue saving lives across the State of Israel.”

Update 22/06/2025
Home of MDA EMT hit by missile in northern Israel – and after ensuring his family’s safety, he continued to evacuate the wounded from the impact site
The home of Daniel Stein, a volunteer EMT with Magen David Adom, was struck this morning by a missile in northern Israel. “The missile landed right in front of our house, extremely close. The house suffered extensive damage from the impact. I made sure my family was safe, and then I got a call from Itzik Erblich, who’s also a volunteer EMT with MDA. I keep a first responder ambulance at home, and Itzik usually joins me when we respond to incidents. As soon as he heard the explosion, he called me, and I told him the strike hit my house,” Daniel recounts.
“He immediately came over and helped rescue my children from the house, from under the rubble. Once everyone was out, I also left the house and immediately began searching for and evacuating the injured from the scene. I see this as my mission—this is our job and this is why we’re here. We put our emotions and fear aside and go to work.”
