An Evening with The Green Prince: Douglas

    Date: 16/10/2018

    Time: 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Mosab Hassan Yousef aka The Green Prince is son of Hamas leader Sheikh Hassan Yousef, who worked undercover for Israel’s internal security service Shin Bet from 1997 to 2007.

Shin Bet considered him its most valuable source within the Hamas leadership: The information Yousef supplied prevented dozens of suicide attacks and assassinations of Israelis, exposed numerous Hamas cells, and assisted Israel in hunting down many militants, including the incarceration of his own father. In March 2010, he published his autobiography titled Son of Hamas and later a film in 2014.

In 1999, Yousef converted to Christianity, and in 2007, he moved to the United States. His request for political asylum in the United States was granted pending a routine background check on June 30, 2010. In September 2017 Yousef made a controversial statement at the United Nations saying, “In the dystopian universe of George Orwell’s 1984, everyone was forced to undergo a daily ‘Two Minute of Hate’. In the dystopian universe of the UN Human Rights Council—where Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Cuba and Venezuela are members—the built-in schedule of every session includes one day dedicated solely to spewing hate against the Jewish state.”

Join The Green Prince in conversation as he tells a gripping account of terror, betrayal, political intrigue and unthinkable choices.
