MDA Israel trains the NHS

Representatives of our very own NHS have been in Israel recently to learn from Magen David Adom. The NHS has set up a special ambulance unit called HART (Hazardous Area Response Team), which is in place to respond to chemical incidents, mass casualty situations and complex rescues.

Last month, HART training director Dave Bull visited Tel Aviv to get to know MDA’s training programmes for the staff and volunteers in the Management of Multi Casualty situations and non-conventional incidents, as well as the simulation technology used to train them.

Mr. Bull visited MDA’s national operations centre, Paramedic training school, the National Medical Simulation Centre (MESER) and the military medical training school. Issues and challenges of mutual interest were discussed, in the frame of an ever-growing threat that the organisations have to face.

This was the second time Magen David Adom has come in to contact with HART. Earlier this year, MDA paramedic Sarah Cascella spent some time in the UK visiting ambulance stations and working with NHS paramedics.
