Business Breakfast with Hewer raises £17.5k
Nick Hewer, Lord Sugar’s right-hand man on BBC1′s hit show, ‘The Apprentice’ entertained 120 guests at Magen David Adom’s inaugural business breakfast this morning (Thursday 15th December 2011).
Breakfast Committee chair, Guy Davis, introduced the event before MDA UK Chair, Stuart Glyn, gave a brief overview in to the work the charity does. Lord David Gold, former Managing Partner at Herbert Smith (and long-term associate of both Hewer and Lord Sugar) then introduced the guest speaker.
Nick Hewer took the audience on a whirlwind tour of his career and relationship with Sugar dating back to 1983. He spoke about the highs and lows along the way before declaring that, “anyone” could do his job. Hewer also claimed that he had tried repeatedly to retire but Lord Sugar had always got him back for more.
The event, at The Savoy in London, raised over £17,500 for Israel’s only medical emergency and blood service.
