If you are in Israel this Pesach you are invited to join us at the Michael Bloomberg ambulance station in Jerusalem where we will be dedicating two shared ambulances from our recent ambulance appeal along with another ambulance and some other smaller vehicles. As part of your visit, you will receive a tour of the Bloomberg station.

Naturally as a first aid charity, we like to be right on the pulse – Ping-pong bars are the trend of the moment sweeping across New York and London, and YMDA are proud to say we will be the first charity to host such an event.

This night will have something for everyone. Whether you fancy yourself to be the next Forrest Gump or Zhang Jike (here’s the link to his Wikipedia page for your convenience Zhang Jike) come along to our club night at the ‘happiest place on Earth’ on Saturday 9th March.

17 February 2013 - Richard & Simon's Challenge 50 Event

As you may know, Simon Bitton and I have set up a group called Challenge 50 to try and raise £50,000 to buy an ambulance for MDA in memory of our mums. For our first of what we hope will be many events, we invite you to hear the remarkable story of Gina Turgel who survived the atrocities of the Holocaust. As we are the last generation who will be able to hear these stories first hand this is not an event to be missed.

Entry to the event is free but there will be an appeal on the night or alternatively you can give directly through our just giving page.

Zoe Verdene is an Emergency Medicine Technician (Paramedic) and is stationed at the MDA Station in Netanya specialising at the Intensive Care Unit there.

Magen David Adom UK football team Oakwood will take on Hendon in the Peter Morrison National Cup Final next Sunday, 29th April.

MDA have had a relationship with the Oakwood football team since MDA Young Patron Chairman Daniel Geey joined the team. The relationship has helped to raise the profile of MDA in the sporting setting and to educate the players about the vital work MDA carries out in Israel and across the world.

Hendon Magen David Adom presents a screening of ‘In Our Own Hands’ – the hidden story of the Jewish brigade in World War II.

The screening will take place at The Jewish Museum in Camden.

Doors open at 10am and the film starts at 2.30pm.

YMDA Summer Pub Quiz Sell-Out

On Tuesday, 21st June,  Young Magen David Adom held a sell-out Summer Pub Quiz for 100 young professionals in the Betsy Smith in Kilburn. Teams packed out the venue with the added attraction of theatre and cinema tickets for the winning team, whilst comedian John Perlmutter entertained guests as the host for the evening.

Committee chair  David Greenberg said “We were thrilled that the event brought together a great mix of people in aid of Magen David Adom. All teams had fun taking part and we are so happy that the success of the event has created more awareness and raised vital funds to save more lives in Israel”
